How To Spring Clean Your Brand

Focus on These (3) Areas To Spring Clean Your Business!

Updating your website, marketing, and business goals at the start of a new quarter doesn’t have to be complicated. Small steps can lead to big results when you take the time to do these things below.

01 - Business

  • CLIENT TESTIMONIALS / REVIEWS:  Request and/or update your client testimonials/reviews. These are always good to have on deck, but also a reminder of your impact. Even better, send a link to exactly where you want them to show (Yelp, Facebook, etc.) Testimonials build credibility and trust with potential clients.

  • NETWORKING / CONNECTIONS / COMMUNITY: Identify opportunities within your industry (or adjacent) to connect with potential clients and collaborators IRL or online. As we know, your network is your net worth so being intentional with cultivating this at the start of every quarter can have long term affects on your success.

  • QUARTERLY GOALS: Now is the time to remind yourself of the vision you created at the beginning of the year OR update and adjust it. From that list of goals, which goal makes the most sense to focus on this quarter > year > week?

02 - Website

  • UPDATE IMAGES:
This is a great time to switch out some banner images (and name them properly for SEO), with a refreshed look.

  • NEW CONTENT:
Blogging isn’t dead. In fact, it’s a key way search engines learn about what you do and keep you ranking in search results. The best tip is to create blog posts that ANSWER common questions potential clients or customers need to know about your industry, while emphasizing how YOU approach those.

  • OPTIMIZE YOUR NAVIGATION & LANDING PAGE:
When someone first lands on your page, everything they see, before scrolling is prime real-estate on your website. This is technically called “above the fold” and should be strategic to the number 1 thing you want visitors to do on your website. Additionally, your navigation (the links at the top of your web pag) should NEVER be cluttered and always tailored to the highest priority things you want your visitor to do? Eg. Shop the new collection, most popular service, or RSVP for an upcoming event.

03 - Marketing

  • EMAIL MARKETING:
Based on your goal for the quarter, how can you plan, create, and schedule email marketing campaigns to develop relationships with potential customers, promote products or services, and engage with your audience. This should be an 80/20 balance of creating value for your audience and talking directly about your offers. If you have no list, now is your time to focus on getting subscribers because this is a direct link to your community, without being dependent on social networks and other channels.

  • CONTENT PLANNING:
Content doesn’t have to be complicated. How can you use the same plan for your email marketing to create content with the same messaging? If you’re not selling anything, how can you share your art, perspective, or expertise in ways that excite you and make you want to show up? Have fun and remember to document > create.

  • LOW-HANGING FRUIT:
Sometimes we forget that marketing is just about  people knowing what you do, who you are, and what you offer. And to get the word out, it's all about grabbing the easy wins – like reaching out to existing customers, asking for referrals, (re)connecting with your network, community, and friends, authentically connecting w/ people on social media, showing up at local events, making helpful content, teaming up with others, etc. These simple moves can really get things rolling for your business in Q2.
